If there’s one important thing in life I have learned, it is that nothing good ever comes easy, but it will all be worth it. Yes, yes, I know, it’s overrated, this saying is overrated. But I just believe that it’s true. You know, in every single aspect of our lives, we experience pain and suffering. We have to experience them. Because it is through these that we get to appreciate the simple things in life. It’s the same with love, I believe. A very good friend of mine told me while we were in 4th year highschool something about love that I will never ever forget:
Love and Pain come in package. No choice, but to deal with both of them.
Yes, I believe they both come together. We have to let ourselves hurt. Not that we are masochists or martyrs, but it’s just the way it is. It’s how love rolls. It’s how it works. Yes it works. It works that way. We have to experience pain in order to feel how wonderful love is, how wonderful life is. We don’t often see how suffering helps us, but it does. It helps us to become better persons. Yes, it crushes us, it breaks our hearts. But it can never kill us. Love can never kill us and the hope inside us. Love never fails. It never will. Because when that happens, when love suddenly brings us to our death, then that is the moment when we have already fallen out of love.
Ika nga nila, kapag napapagod ka at nasasaktan ka, ibig sabihin, nagmamahal ka. Then maybe, I am on the right track. “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger,” sabi nga ni Kelly Clarkson.
Kidding aside, I have to put this here, because this will always be my favorite quote from the best philosopher in the world:
“Love is not a possibility, is not due to our initiative, is without reason; it invades and wounds us, and nevertheless, the “I” survives it.”- Emmanuel Levinas
Let’s never stop loving. Because it is the very reason why we are now living. It’s all because of love. His love for us.
